DRIED APRICOT
The Malatya region of Turkey is famous for its apricots due to their dry material content which ranges between 24% to 30%, well above the standard 20% of other varieties. Drying is carried out by growers and farmers, then the raw apricots are sold on the market to intermediaries who market the apricots to processor and packer companies. Packaging companies first wash and fumigate the apricots, then calibrate to 8 different sizes. The apricots are then rested in plastic baskets for 24 hours to absorb the excess water. After humidity and SO2 tests, if the product conforms to official quality standards, it is handpicked by workers who discard any wounded, damaged or mouldy fruit. Finally, the fruit is packed into 5kg or 12.5kg bulk cartons, inside pp nylon or oil paper. In many packing houses, retail packs of 200g, 250g, 400g and 500g are available upon request. These are white foam trays or clear cello bags. Retail packs are also available with private labels.

RAISINS
Raisins are dried grapes/currants. However, unlike fresh grapes, they are rich and concentrated sources of energy, vitamins, electrolytes and minerals. On a weight per weight comparison basis, 100g of dried grapes have 249 calories, several times more fibre, vitamins, minerals and polyphenol antioxidants than fresh grapes. Raisins, however, contain fewer amounts of vitamin C, folic acid, carotene, lutein and xanthin than fresh grapes.
In general, fresh grapes, either seedless or seeded varieties of the Vinifera species such as, Thompson seedless (Sultana), Sugarone, Calmeria, Corinth, etc., are dried in sunlight or using mechanical drying techniques. In some cases, the whole bunch of grapes may be allowed to dry on the plant itself (vine-dried). Generally, the moisture content should not exceed 16% of the dry weight. Thoroughly dried raisins are then stemmed, cap-stemmed, sorted and cleaned in order to obtain a high quality, dried product. At the wholesale level, raisins are processed and graded further before being sent to the market.

DRIED BLUEBERRY
Dried blueberries are rich in vitamin K, providing about 23.8 micrograms of the vitamin per one-quarter cup. This amount equates to 20 to 26 percent of the recommended daily value for vitamin K. Vitamin K helps your blood clot properly and plays a crucial role in your bone health. Furthermore, vitamin K helps your body use calcium to build bones. Evidence suggests that vitamin K helps cut the risk of bone fractures, especially in postmenopausal women who are at risk for osteoporosis, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center.
